NLP By the Sea hold 2nd Conference in Bournemouth |
Bournemouth people have a chance to test out some of the latest ?mind-bending' thinking when a specialist conference comes to town this summer.
It's all about NLP, or ?neuro-linguistic programming' to give it its full title.
NLP, a psychological approach popularised by TV personalities like Derren Brown and Paul McKenna, is becoming increasingly mainstream.
For example, the book NLP for Dummies became the fastest-selling ?for Dummies' book ever when it was published in 2005. NLP techniques have their roots in the Californian personal development movement, but nowadays are taught in business, in schools, and even in the cabinet office as ways of helping people become more effective ? and happier.
Now in its second year, ?NLP by the Sea' at Bournemouth University on 18 and 19 August will bring together NLP enthusiasts from all over the country to share ideas and experiment. And people without previous experience of NLP are welcome to join in. NLP by the Sea are clients of Bournemouth University Innovation Centre.
Organiser Jon Bowmer explained: ?The speakers will be offering new insights and skills that can be applied immediately in your everyday life.
?It's not about being sold courses or being forced to join in. It's about having the freedom to find out in a way that suits you.
?If you're interested in having a great life everyday, starting now rather than sometime in the future, you'll take away plenty of new ideas that you can apply immediately you get home.?
Now in its second year, NLP by the Sea takes place at Bournemouth University on 18 and 19 August 2007 .
