Listed, Bournemouth 's brightest entertainment magazine (located in Bournemouth University Innovation Centre), is to launch in Southampton with a bumper edition to promote the town's flagship music industry week, Sun, Sea and Sound. The event will be hosted by the BIC, and as the official media partner, Listed will be producing a BUMPER 80-page issue on 12 November reaching 60,000 people across Dorset and Hampshire. The magazine will also be sent out to the UK 's most influential players in the music business. The special edition Listed, sponsored by the BIC, will preview the seminars, workshops and live shows taking place at venues across Bournemouth and Poole from Wednesday 5 th to Sunday 9 th December 2007 , as well as interviews with top musicians. The BIC will already be buzzing with sell-out acts such as McFly, Crowded House and Manic Street Preachers performing that week, which, combined with Sun, Sea and Sound promises to place Bournemouth firmly on the music map. Sun, Sea and Sound is organised by Chris Jenkins, business development manager at the BIC and chairman of the Bournemouth and Poole Music Industry Forum. ‘The key to successful events is excellent partnerships,' says Chris. ‘The BIC and Listed is one of those. Listed shares the same aims as those of Sun, Sea and Sound in providing inspiration and information. This event gives Listed the opportunity to reach a wider market, whilst offering the BIC a unique publication to make Sun, Sea and Sound as accessible as possible. We look forward to the future.' The line-up for the event will be announced in October and will cover all areas of the music business from live debates on hot industry issues through to drum workshops. Already signed up is former MD of Virgin records John ‘Webbo' Webster and ex-Bournemouth schoolboy, John Wetton, lead singer of Asia . Schools and universities across the South will be involved, and Poole and Bournemouth's local music venues will host live music every night, co-ordinated by local events company Strawberry Fields Presents. ‘It is a pleasure to work with Listed magazine as the publication has had such a positive impact in such a short period of time,' says Katy Lord of Strawberry Fields. ‘Listed supports the music scene by promoting live events and that is where there is a great connection.' She continues: ‘Joining forces with the BIC and Listed Magazine, the Sun, Sea and Sound event is going to be a fantastic occasion in the music calendar. Strawberry Fields Presents will ensure that the fringe events will be busy throughout the many venues and musical talent will be exposed. We will be showcasing some of the best talent ranging from acoustic acts to high-flying DJs and professional performers. Venues, artists and promoters need to recognise that they play an important part in the local music scene and we're proud to bring that community together.' The bumper Sun, Sea and Sound edition will be published on 12 November 2007 and distributed in Poole , Bournemouth , Christchurch , the New Forest , Lymington, Eastleigh , Chandlers Ford and Southampton . Listed magazine is published every six weeks. The next edition comes out on 01 October.
